I really hoped TransPennine had a superb on-board offering, as they don't provide 1st class lounges at Carlisle or Glasgow. Imagine my disappointment when the superb on-board offering didn't happen. The on-board service was fine, but the ride was very rough which I'm guessing was more of a TransPennine issue rather than a track issue.
