I love doughnuts! They are one of my favourite desserts of all time which is why I had to share this recipe with you. These yeast-risen doughnuts are light and airy, with a slight chew and are perfect rolled in crunchy granulated sugar or dipped into chocolate glaze :D Once you start making them, you may not go back to store-bought again :D Full recipe listed below. I hope you enjoy this video :) INGREDIENTS For the doughnuts: 1 cup, Whole Milk 2.5 tsp, Active Dry Yeast 1/3 cup, Unsalted Butter (melted) 1/3 cup, Granulated Sugar 1.5 tsp, Salt 2 large Eggs 4 cup and 3 tbsp, All Purpose Flour Vegetable Oil for Frying For the glaze: 1 cup, Chocolate Chips 2 tbsp, Butter 2 tsp, Water 2 tsp, Corn Syrup Garnish: Granulated Sugar METHOD Heat milk until just lukewarm, and add yeast. Stir to mix and allow to rest for 5 minutes to bloom. If the yeast does not puff up either the milk was too hot or your yeast was too old. Please start again with new yeast/lukewarm milk, as it is important that the yeast is active in order for the doughnuts to rise. In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment add butter, sugar, and salt and mix until combined. Then crack in eggs and mix. Then add yeast/milk mixture and mix until incorporated. Finally add the flour, and mix until a shaggy dough forms. Switch the paddle for a dough hook, and knead the mixture for 7-8 minutes until soft and supple. Shape dough into a ball, place back in the bowl, and cover with plastic wrap or a damp cloth. Allow to rise for an hour or until the dough has doubled in volume. Once risen, flour a work surface and roll out dough until it is about 1/4 inch thick. Using a 3.5 inch and a 1.5 inch cookie cutter, punch out the doughnuts. Place doughnuts on individual pieces of parchment paper, cover again with plastic wrap or a damp cloth, and allow to rise again for 45 minutes until nice and puffy. To create chocolate glaze, add all ingredients to a bowl and heat in a microwave on high for 25 seconds. Then stir until glossy and smooth. Set aside. Fill a large frying pan with vegetable oil and heat to 350 degrees. Gently lower in doughnuts and fry for 1 minute on each side or until evenly golden and cooked through to the middle. Drain and allow to cool on a rack for a few minutes. Roll some doughnuts in the granulated sugar, and dip the rest in the chocolate glaze. Enjoy! :) MUSIC Lights by Roa / roa_music1031 Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0 Free Download / Stream: https://bit.ly/roa-lights Music promoted by Audio Library • Lights – Roa (No Copyright Music)
