Initially doctors thought she wouldn’t be able to eat or speak. She’s been through many operations, including one where a part of her rib was removed and used for her jaw. Not all the operations went to plan but Katelyn has overcome every hurdle, she can talk and sing, she can swallow through her mouth and no longer relies on an eating tube. On top of this Katelyn is sporty and musical, growing up she took part in many extra-curricular activities at her school. She can confidently play the drums, piano and marimba.
