🗓 Date: 5/24/24 🛤 Line: CSX Columbus Subdivision ✭✭✭ After catching the two NS trains near Lewis Center, I decided to head over to the Columbus Subdivision to see if I could luck out and catch anything before I needed to wrap up for the day. I headed over to Godown Road, where I could see signals at either end of Linworth Siding for both directions. After about an hour of waiting, the wait paid off and I was rewarded with a clear signal for a southbound train. I quickly relocated to this crossing a couple of miles north, where, within another hour, down came a tank train being led by two BNSF locomotives, an SD70ACe and C44-9W. Not the locomotives I came to OHIO from Texas for, but any train on the lightly-traveled Columbus Subdivision is a good one. This crossing is a pretty neat one with a cool mix of equipment. The road signals here appear to date back to the CSX of the 1980s. They feature entirely Western Cullen Hayes equipment including both original mechanical bells. In fact, the only changes to them was a replacement of the original light heads. The pedestrian gates here, on the other hand, were installed more recently, around the 2000s if I had to make an educated guess. These feature entirely Safetran equipment. ✭✭✭ Timestamps: 0:00 - Signal activation 0:34 - Train 2:24 - Signal deactivation ✭✭✭ Join my Discord server to talk about railfanning and anything else! / discord ✭✭✭ Visit my other media platforms here! https://linktr.ee/The_Central_Texas_R...
