Suburban Walk Series #5: Aberdeen, Washington City Walking Tour With Kurt Cobain Under The Bridge Memorial Park Aberdeen is located at the eastern end of Grays Harbor and considered the Gateway to the Olympic Peninsula. A former important logging, seafood center and seaport, Aberdeen is best known as the hometown of Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain. The walk begins with a crossing of the Wishkah River Bridge over the river of the same name. Continue to the Kurt Cobain Under the Bridge Memorial. The route continues with residential strolls through the lowlands, Arnold Hill and Broadway Heritage districts. Continue through the downtown district featuring early twentieth century architecture along Wishkah, Heron and State Streeets.
