In this Art Bits episode, I’m taking a thrifted baby board book and transforming it into a display book for 12 of my favorite mini paintings created with my November color palette. 📖✨ The thick, sturdy board pages are perfect for altering — painting, collaging, and showcasing mixed media artwork. I used two of my larger November pieces for the front and back covers, added a scrap of vintage fabric to the spine, and accented it with a touch of gold ribbon for a warm, antique feel. Inside, I used scrapbook paper as a backdrop for each mini painting. With 12 paintings and 12 pages, this little book was meant to be! I’ll also walk you through the problem-solving that happened along the way… including several center-spine mess-ups I chose to leave in the video, because I think it’s helpful to see what doesn’t work, too. (In the end, a remnant ribbon saved the day!) This is my first altered board book, and I loved learning as I went. It turned into a beautiful way to preserve and display my November artwork — and I’m already planning to create one for each month as I move forward with new palettes. ✨ See all Art Bits episodes on my channel {be sure to subscribe!} and download the monthly color palettes I'm using here: https://www.jaiart.com/art-bits.html
