Though the Guru had already explained his philosophy in Malayalam, he lacked a Sanskrit text for future scholars. At the request of his disciple Swami Vidyananda, Narayana Guru dictated one hundred carefully arranged verses. Vidyananda later wrote a short Malayalam commentary called Deedhiti. ദീധിതി).
