We headed down to One Raceway (Wakefield) for Round 2 of the SuperTT Championship. This round was a sprint round, consisting of Warm Up, Qualifying and 3 x 20min Sprint Races. I entered the car into the O2T (Over 2L Treaded) class once again for this event. In qualifying, i managed to put the car into 7th place overall, and 1st in class with a 1:05.89. Race 1, i got a good launch off the line. I was battling hard with Trevor Symonds in the Woolongong Auto Parts Commodore infront and under pressure from Jett Herring in the Herring Racing MX5 and Aaron Giuntini in the A&M Racing EG Civic behind from the start. I attempted a more than ambitious move on the inside of the fishhook after a few laps behind the Commodore - and we made contact. It was rim to rim and unfortunatley it caused him to DNF that race. It was also a flashing yellow which i only had seen at the last second and tried my best to avoid the overtake but locked up on the inside. Trevor and I had a chat in the garage afterwards, and he was a straight up gentleman. Luckily for us it was not worse, and we both got to continue racing for the rest of the day. For the rest of the race i was defending the entire time against Jett in the MX5, he was relentless. All was going well until my steering wheel column came loose and started moving. In slowing down to try and lock it back in place i gave up the position to Jett. He was gone and i couldn't catch him. I finished the race in P7 Outright and 1st In Class, but a trip to the stewards and a 30 second post race penalty for the contact under yellow meant a drop to P9 for the start of the second race.
