This time he stopped to examine a few of the creative structures people in Honduras build. The government doesn't enforce any type of building codes and people can basically do and build whatever works for them. These "creative" structures show how people living in extreme poverty with little access to resources use what they have to get the job done. Honduras is one of the poorest countries in all of Central America and every family has people who have left the nation searching somewhere in the world for a better life. One fascinating statistic is approximately $30,000,000 (YES - thirty million) dollars gets transferred every day from immigrants living in the United States back to families in Honduras.
