This is the actual screen capture of how I edited the wedding same day edit video on December 11, 2018. Knowledge shared is always better than knowledge kept. It’s funny why I feel awkward every time someone calls me an “artist”. In my mind, I am more of a problem solver. This video shows it. I’ve decided to make this video last night because I was asked about this topic. I get asked about this all the time and I just feel like it’s hard to explain it in words. I’ve been planning to hold a seminar about this topic for a couple of months now but because of the backlogs, I just can’t. I’d rather finish the videos first. I am posting this here so editors, especially the new ones would be able to pick my brain about this topic. This is an ongoing issue that the videographers are struggling about right now and as one of the “OLD” ones, I had to speak up because there has been a lot of complaints, not just in Dumaguete but other places as well. Hopefully our voice will be heard and people would be educated about this. Initial reactions of this video were negative, not the result that I was hoping to get. The reactions were aimed more on the coordinator’s role in the program but I don’t think it’s their fault. They really cannot control people from going home after eating. That’s the harsh reality. Some of them don’t know how hard it is to make a video in such a short amount of time because they’ve not been educated about this matter. I perfectly understand it. I do hope though that they will include this topic when they plan the reception program in the future events. Artists are never rushed to finish a painting. Just like composers are never rushed to finish a song. Singers perform the same song over and over again for years. My point is that it is hard to be a videographer. We cannot even use the same song twice. It would be easier if I will use 1 song every 5 weddings but I just can’t. hahaha! Asking us to make a masterpiece in one hour is a bit too much, right? I have adjusted to it but my heart goes out to the teams that have not developed a system yet for this task.
