2021 was a BIG year for the blackberry in Arkansas as Governor Asa Hutchinson proclaimed June as Blackberry Month and praised the blackberry as a crowning achievement at the University of Arkansas’ Fruit Research Station in Clarksville. Me & McGee Market's Logan Duvall travelled to the Research Station in Clarksville to catch up with Dr. John Clark, University of Arkansas Distinguished Professor of Horticulture, who leads the team there and is a celebrity in the world of fruit production, specifically blackberries. Then Chef Titus Holly of Holly Smokes, shows us that blackberries aren't just for pies and cobblers; as he shows us how to make a blackberry balsamic reduction. How have you experienced Arkansas agriculture lately? We'd love to know! Use the hashtag #aragex.
