The History of the Khazars Documentary- Episode 1: Their Rise, The Huns & The Gokturks

I first began studying the Khazars in 2021 when I heard about their controversial conversion to Judaism. As I was researching the Khazars, I noticed the hostility surrounding the subject, which made me even more interested. I took note of how people were verbally attacked or publicly condemned for even assuming anything about the Khazars. So, I naturally asked myself, “who are these people?” While studying this interesting group I learned much more than I bargained for. It is usually hard for more to remember what I have studied, so I began taking notes to help me retain more information and after a while, I accumulated so many annotations on the history of the Khazars that I decided to make a video about them. However, I realized that one video wouldn’t be enough because their history is intertwined with many other nations and tribes, so my notes turned into a docuseries and here we are today. Extensive effort was invested into assuring this history is depicted as precisely as possible. In this episode we will talk about the origins of the Khazars and their rise on the world scene. We will also cover pieces of history from the Scythians, the Cimmerians, the Sarmatians, the Alans, the Huns, the Gokturks, the Uigurs, the Bulgars, the Sassanids, the Byzantine Empire, the Tang Dynasty and the Rouran Khaganate. The history of all these tribes and nations is intertwined with that of the Khazars. I attempted to only use copyright free videos and images.
