Hello! 🧡 Welcome to my channel! I’m Paulina, and I’ve been living in Granada, Spain, for almost 5 years. In this video, I’m sharing everything I wish I had known about life in Granada as a foreigner, from navigating the NIE process, rent prices, and job tips to understanding living expenses, transport, and the unique lifestyle challenges here. If you're considering moving to Granada or just curious about life as an expat, this video is for you! ⚠️ UPDATE FOR 2025: I mentioned a minimum of 1700 € net salary per month - this is what I considered a good salary and what people should actually be earning in 2024 to live awesomely in Granada (to live alone, have a rich social life, and still be able to save). INFLATION GOES CRAZY IN HERE AND ALSO RENT PRICES. An acceptable salary for 2025 for a single-person-wanna-be to live, have fun, travel, go out and save should be 1900 € net (unless you live with a friend/partner and pay less than 400 € per month - then 1400 € is OK). Still, from my own experience, I think salaries are too low and people deserve much more than they get. 👁️👄👁️ Topics covered: ☆ NIE Number: What it is and how to get it ☆ Rent & Bills: How much you’ll pay for a flat, utilities, and more ☆ Jobs & Salaries: Tips for finding work in Granada ☆ Living Costs: How much you’ll need to live comfortably ☆ Transportation: Getting around the city ☆ Healthcare & Language Tips: Navigating Spain’s healthcare and local dialect ☆ I’ll also dive into some personal experiences, like living in different neighbourhoods, finding affordable groceries, and dealing with unexpected costs. ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ I forgot to mention: ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ 🛍️ Shopping: A) El Corte Inglés - there is one huge supermercado in the centre. It (was) the most expensive place to shop until recently. They have an incredibly huge amount of products (sometimes even from other countries. I must say I shop a couple of things there. Great discounts!; B) Hipercor - can be quite expensive. They certainly have many, manyyy products from other countries. 🧑🏼💻 Jobs: I forgot to mention that regarding jobs and contracts - the Convenio thing. It's simply an agreement between you and your boss, written by the Ministry of Labour. It helps to prevent underpayment in each sector, sets the amount of days off and anything else you might be struggling with. Anyway, just because it exists doesn't mean the companies won't screw you by putting you in a section of a wrong profession so that you earn less than you should. Maybe I should explain it in another video? 🏠 Rent websites: www.fotocasa.es, www.idealista.com; Thank you for watching! 🧡 (✿◠‿◠) 00:00 - 00:49 - Intro 00:40 - 01:14 - Who am I? 01:15 - 02:26 - Papers and the 90-day rule 02:27 - 05:12 - NIE number (blanco and verde) 05:13 - 05:47 - Intro - All living costs 05:48 - 07:04 - Rent 07:05 - 08:49 - Bills 08:50 - 09:17 - Phone and internet 09:18 - 10:24 - Healthcare 10:25 - 12:45 - Transport 12:46 - 13:36 - Food and Cooking 13:37 - 13:59 - Variable Expenses 14:00 - 15:28 - Jobs and Salaries, Informations 15:29 - 16:19 - Job Seeking 16:20 - 19:44 - Areas to live in (or not) 19:45 - 22:19 - Rent Problems (Racism, Avalista, Deposits, Important Info) 22:20 - 23:45 - Shopping 23:46 - 25:19 - Student, Adult or Tourist areas 25:20 - 26:26 - Weather 26:27 - 27:34 - Language and dialect 27:35 - 31:18 - All culture shocks 31:19 - 31:58 - Epilog Thank you for watching! 🧡 #Granada #LivingInSpain #Expats #LifeInGranada #SpainExpat #RentInGranada #NIE #CostOfLiving #SpanishHealthcare #RemoteWork #MovingToSpain #GranadaLiving This is not encrypted language.
