While the most well-known films and actors are found in North America, it is no secret that respectable films are made all over the world. It is no different in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The DPRK's Art Film Studio is located in a suburb of Pyongyang, covering about one million square meters of land. Many of the country's films are shot here. Founded in 1947, the studio has a screenplay producing center, an audio and video center and a directing center. There are more than 170 buildings in the film studio complex, constructed with vastly different architectural designs.
