Alexandria during the later 4th Century was an intolerant place with paganism under heavy attack by Christians climaxing in 391CE with the destruction of the large temple of Serapis (the Serapeum). Julian, the last pagan Emperor several decades earlier had condemned the Alexandrians for adopting Christianity and leaving the pagan beliefs. The video discusses the change the city went through to the end of paganism. Movie clips are from Agora released 2009 Would you like to help support this channel?
