On Good Friday 1998, the historic Belfast Agreement (also known as the Good Friday Agreement) was reached, bringing an end to the decades-long conflict known as the Troubles. Beginning in Northern Ireland and spreading to the British mainland, the years of inter-communal violence touched the lives of successive generations across Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland before being brought to an end through a painstaking peace process. To mark the 25th anniversary, we present the Evening News bulletin from the day the agreement was reached.
