Mexico said Monday 25 members of the National Guard were left dead in Jalisco in six separate attacks after the killing of a top cartel leader, Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, also known as “El Mencho,” in a raid by Mexican authorities (translation via AP). The operation, which used intelligence from the US, resulted in the deaths of Oseguera and six other cartel members, as well as the wounding of three soldiers and the seizure of various weapons.
