In addition, tolerance can be quickly developed to addictive drugs, which can lead to overdosing, when a break is taken from past use to the next use. The opioid crisis is widespread, especially across North America - if you happen to be carrying Narcan (Naloxone), you could save someone's life. Many pharmacies in Canada provide naloxone kits to people who might experience or witness an overdose. In the US, Narcan is available over the counter without a prescription.
