Thanks to my advanced age, I was able to witness the history of pop music from the very beginning. The formation of well-known bands in the early 1960s and their subsequent development. This naturally included Genesis with Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Phil Collins, and the man we are talking about here, Mike Rutherford. As bassist and rhythm guitarist, rather modestly in the background, he said goodbye to progressive rock after Peter Gabriel left and kept Genesis, then more pop-oriented, alive for a few more years with a changing lineup, mainly with Phil Collins as singer. When these formations also fell apart, he founded his own band in the early 1980s. The above-mentioned title is one of my favorite songs by him. The instrumentation with three acoustic guitars dominates this piece. I took the liberty of interpreting it in a slightly rockier style with multiple vocals and percussion. This song has been covered by many well-known and unknown artists. Here is my version, enjoy.
