March is Kidney Cancer Awareness Month. The main motive of this video — Kidney Cancer Awareness — is to encourages all Indians to check up on their kidney health, which includes getting a kidney screening and having a conversation with your doctor about your risk. Kidney cancer -- also called renal cancer -- is a disease in which kidney cells become malignant (cancerous) and grow out of control, forming a tumor. Almost all kidney cancers first appear in the lining of tiny tubes (tubules) in the kidney. This type of kidney cancer is called renal cell carcinoma. Early kidney cancers usually do not cause any signs or symptoms, but larger ones might. Some possible signs and symptoms of kidney cancer includes: 1. Blood in the urine (hematuria) 2. Low back pain on one side (not caused by injury) 3. A mass (lump) on the side or lower back 4. Fatigue (tiredness) 5. Loss of appetite 6. Weight loss not caused by dieting 7. Fever that is not caused by an infection and that doesn’t go away 8.
