Reggae may have been born in Jamaica, but over the decades it has found a powerful and permanent home in Africa. From the liberation messages that resonated during anti-colonial struggles, to the spiritual and political consciousness that still speaks to young people today, reggae has long been more than just music on this continent, it has been a movement. But in modern times, the landscape has changed.Afrobeats, Amapiano and other contemporary sounds dominate charts and festivals. So the question becomes, how does reggae sustain itself and more importantly, how does it expand in this fast-moving environment?
