Make Faux Wood Beam - Transform Bare Passageway/Ceiling | Natural Rusted Iron Wood Stain

I find this one of the most cost effective way (~20 dollars for material) to transform a space without much architectural interest or visual interest (bland white wall). Faux beams add earthy tones to your home to give off a natural vibe. I really didn't like the bare passageway in our house, and I thought about applying lime wash to the walls and making a faux beam. I ended up going this route because commercial lime wash for drywalls are Expensive (covering downstairs area would cost thousands!). While I work on figuring out how to make my own drywall friendly lime wash, this faux beam is a happy solution! I love this project because this is my first true woodworking project, and I got to try a few new tools/methods. This process definitely made me more confident to try my hands at more woodworking projects! I also absolutely love the natural wood stain made with rusted iron and vinegar - it's nontoxic, unlike the commercial ones, and the colors look so organic.
