This is my first try with threadmilling. The mill is a Chinese carbide tool with one flight of three flutes. The material is aluminum of unknown quality. I tried to slow down the feeds in the beginning, but the tool plunged down the hole full speed. Then I sped up the feed override again. You can see how the cutting picks up speed. It looks like the cutter wobbles in the hole. I did not notice this in real life, but it's hard to see. The hole is size M5. The phone was supported against the mill itself, so it could be a video issue - I don't know. You can see that the hole is full of chippings, but that doesn't seem to be a problem. There is also a burr. Not too bad, but a pass with the deburring tool might be a good idea. The screw sits with a loose fit in the hole. I left the "tightness" slider in the middle. Taps also produce rather loose holes, but I have not made a scientific comparison. I am amazed that this first try produced exactly what was planned. No tool crashes, no speed problems, no other surprises.
