"Rooted in resilience, driven by dreams.” It’s important to recognize that my parents weren’t alone in building the vibrant community we see today. Every elder generation has contributed in their own way, and this is how individual responsibility shapes a community. For example, my parents did everything they could to make our family successful. They sold sweaters on the streets, along the roads, anywhere they could. Back then, things were very different. There were hardly any Indians who knew about Tibetans, but my parents worked hard to earn a living, not just for themselves but also for us. Survival was the priority in those days. Now, I own this restaurant, which specializes in Indian cuisine. It gives me some free time, but I never forget that I am a Tibetan refugee. I’ve heard countless stories from my parents, and I feel a deep responsibility to do something for the cause of Tibet. That’s why I’m active in the community, not just as a businessman but as an activist. I’m a proud member of the Tibetan Youth Congress in Delhi. Although I’ve never been to Tibet, it’s a place that calls to me. I’ve always wanted to go there—it’s my homeland, where I truly belong. I dream of breathing the fresh air of Tibet, of traveling its lands and seeing it with my own eyes. Life in exile is complex. Even though I have a good life now, there’s something missing—something that exile doesn’t quite fill. As for this restaurant, it’s really thanks to my family that it became a reality, especially my sister, who helped me financially. That’s why I put my nephew’s face in the logo as a way of showing my gratitude. I’m truly thankful to have my family’s support in building my dream. And to all of you, thank you for the love and care. . . . . . . . . . #Tibet #StoriesofTibetans #Exile #Refugee #Stories #Documentary #lifeinexile #Reels #trend #Dalailama #
