The Fallbeil - History's Most BRUTAL Execution Method?

Throughout History there have been many different execution methods used to take the lives of a condemned prisoner. During the Medieval period, methods such as hanging, drawing and quartering were brutal and crowds would flock to see these executions. But one of the biggest changes in executions was when the French made the Guillotine and used the device to execute King Louis XVI and his Queen Marie Antoinette during the French Revolution. But following this Germany adopted the guillotine and made some changes to it. The Fallbeil was a German device made from metal which took the lives of thousands of people during The Third Reich and the years before the Second World War. The Fallbeil was sometimes compact and was also considered efficient as executions were carried out usually within 10 seconds of a condemned prisoner entering an execution chamber. Sophie Scholl and Hans Scholl were executed by Johann Reichhart during Hitler's time in power, and were killed using the Fallbeil for resisting the Third Reich. But the Fallbeil was even used by the Allies after the Second World War to sentence those who had been condemned by German courts.
