In an upcoming Oncology Decoded podcast, Manojkumar Bupathi, MD, MS, executive cochair of the Genitourinary Cancer Research Executive Committee at Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI) and medical oncologist with Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers specializing in solid tumors and genitourinary cancers, spoke with different experts at the 2025 World Conference on Genitourinary Cancers (World GU) in Nashville, TN. Bupathi spoke with Mark T. Fleming, MD, a medical oncologist specializing in bladder, kidney, prostate, and testicular cancer of Virginia Oncology Associates; Jeff Yorio, MD, Central Texas Research Site Leader for Texas Oncology and SCRI, and medical oncologist and hematologist; and Mike Lattanzi, MD, medical oncologist specializing in genitourinary malignancies, as well as director of the Texas Oncology Genitourinary Cancer Research Program, and an executive committee member of the SCRI; about their takes on the morning sessions from World GU. Fleming discussed his involvement with a presentation on localized treatment options, which he suggested was a great overview of treatments with curative potential that could bypass the need for systemic therapy. Yorio expressed enjoying the differing localized treatment perspectives, with a particular interest in options outlined for non-invasive bladder cancer. Lattanzi valued the multidisciplinary discussion, which he commended academic centers for, and noted was logistically challenging in community practice. He concluded by highlighting radiotracers for renal cell carcinoma, as well as other novel imaging modalities being developed for localized disease. #genitourinarycancer #localizedtreatment #prostatecancer #bladdercancer #kidneycancer #testicularcancer #cancercare #worldGU #oncology #innovation Don't forget to check us out on: YouTube: / @cancernetwork X/Twitter: https://x.com/cancernetwrk?lang=en LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/canc...
