We take you through 2 easy steps to tidy the roots and new growth at the base of your dreadlocks. This is always the messiest part of the dread! We highly recommend having a little Dread Empire Dread Dust on your finger tips. This is a texturising powder which will make forming those knots so much easier! Check out Dread Dust on the link below. Pop a dreadlock between two fingers and rub it against your scalp in a circular motion. This will tease up the hair and thicken the roots. Now grab a 0.6mm hook, push it through the dread, grab some loose hairs then pull it back into the dreadlock. Once in the dread, spend a moment or two moving the hook back and forth before you exist. Rotate the dread slowly so that you're covering all sides. If your loose hair around the base was long enough, you could rub it between two fingers then wrap it around the base of the dread before pulling it into the dreadlock with the crochet hook.
