⭐ Brutally Honest Review: Beatriz Playa Hotel, Room 3085 – Matagorda, Lanzarote Let me start by saying this hotel could be lovely, but it’s stuck in the past and seems to be coasting on location rather than quality. We stayed in Room 3085, and while the bed was surprisingly comfortable and the bathroom was spotless, the room itself felt tired and in serious need of a refresh. Dated decor, scuffed walls, and furniture that’s definitely seen better days, and the very oddly painted walls where paintwork had been houched up with yellow paint. When we arrived on Friday evening, there were no tea or coffee facilities in the room, not even a kettle. We didn’t mention it at the time, but oddly enough when we returned to the room on Saturday night, a kettle had magically appeared along with paper cups and a few token sachets of tea, coffee, and milk. Nice gesture, but paper cups in a 4-star hotel? Come on. Another annoyance: the flashing light in the bedroom.— it was a constant, distracting pulse that felt more like a faulty sensor than a design choice, I am not going to the trouble of reporting it, Ive just switched it off. If you like doing your hair at a dressing table with decent lighting and access to a plug socket, don’t get your hopes up here. There’s a wall-mounted hairdryer in the bathroom, which works fine, but if you prefer styling at the dressing table sat down like me, the setup is not ideal. Wardrobe space is decent for a short stay (say 7–10 days), but the room is very short on drawer space, just three drawers in total, which isn’t great if you like to unpack fully. Want to use the safe? That’ll cost you extra. Also, there’s a fridge in the room, but it’s empty. No water, no welcome drink, no minibar. Just a cold, empty box. This hotel feels like it’s trying to deliver 4-star on a 2.5-star budget. Location is fab, and the bones of the place could be brilliant with some investment, but the details let it down.
