Adding and subtracting decimals! Ok well this is a very useful one. We see decimals every day when we deal with money so it's really important to understand how to add and subtract numbers with decimal places. Lets go over the important aspects. Review of the important aspects to remember 1 - Remember that a decimal is a fraction and therefore smaller than a whole and therefore when we choose where to start, we must always look at the decimals. 2 - Use the decimal point as a point of reference to align your numbers and ensure that you get all the right numbers in the right columns. 3 - Remember your place holders! This is hugely important, especially in subtraction when there are 'empty spaces' when all your numbers are aligned - This is where most people make mistakes! 4 - When you start to solve your question, always start from the smallest value!
