Fire destroys old firehouse converted into house in Northampton, PA. (Radio Comms included)

Northampton County Fire Radio transmitted the box for the 2400 block of Main Street at 1:35AM Sunday. Engine 42 arrived at the 2494 address and reported smoke showing. The fire was confined to the 2nd floor rear and roof area when the fire department arrived. The fire rapidly extended in the cockloft of the old fire house that was now converted into a private dwelling. Tower 42 positioned in front of the building, while Quint 18 positioned in the rear alley and 47 Ladder stayed on 25th Street. All three used their ladder pipes to attack the fire along with the multiple large hand lines on the ground. The second floor was immediately compromised and the evac tone sounded to evacuate the structure. The fire was placed under control a few hours later and fire officials remained on scene until 7AM. At 2:38PM, a full box was transmitted once again for a rekindle at this address.
