It is often denoted by the symbol V and is measured in volts (V). Electric Potential Due to a Point Charge: The electric potential (V) due to a point charge q at a distance r from it is given by Coulomb's law: V= kq/r Where: k is Coulomb's constant (8.9875×10 9 Nm²/C²). q is the magnitude of the point charge. r is the distance from the point charge. Capacitance: Capacitance (C) is a measure of a capacitor's ability to store charge per unit voltage difference across its plates. It is defined as the ratio of the magnitude of the charge (Q) stored on one plate of the capacitor to the magnitude of the potential difference (V) between the plates: C= Q/V. The SI unit of capacitance is the farad (F), where 1farad =1coulomb/volt .
