In his book, "Stealing from God," Dr. Frank Turek unpacks six of the most popular arguments used by atheists against the Christian worldview. He points out that each one of these arguments contain an assumption that can only be true in a theistic world. For example, when an atheist argues that the God of the Old Testament is evil, they assume a moral standard, by which they call him evil. However, such a moral standard can only exist if God exists. Evil might prove that there is a devil out there, but it cannot disprove God. Instead, like shadows require sunshine, so evil requires God. In this manner, Turek argues for the Christian worldview by engaging the arguments put forth by atheists. As such, this book is for a wide audience. While it tackles complicated questions, it does so in a conversational manner - engaging questions that we have all heard. For this reason, this book is very helpful and applicable to anyone who has atheist friends they often talk to on the subject of faith and worldview. It is also helpful to open one's mind to the assumptions hiding behind beliefs and arguments - which is just as useful in dialogues with those you disagree with as it is in your own life, carefully informing your beliefs. I highly recommend this book to anyone who struggles to engage arguments put forth by atheists. Additionally, it will help you to shape your own faith more carefully, shedding light on poor assumptions that you might possess in your own worldview.
