Located in high in the mountains of Pulang Lupa, this historical park offers a sweeping panoramic view of the eastern seaboard of Marinduque. This shrine just outside of Torrijos town is home to the most famous battle in the Province of Marinduque during the Philippine-American War. This battle is one of the five inspirational battles where Filipinos defeated American occupying forces during this period in the Philippines. The mighty clash between Filipinos and American troops occurred last September 13, 1900 at “Kambindol” now known as Pulang Lupa, which was led by Colonel Maximo Abad. They surprised and defeated the Company of the United States 29th Volunteers led by Captain Deveraux Shields. Today an obelisk, the National Historical Commission (formerly NHI) marker, and a concrete retablo mark the place. Come and experience its extraordinary scenery!
