GreenLink is the backbone infrastructure connecting South Africa’s renewable energy heartland with its future industrial and urban demand centers. As an integrated high-capacity corridor, GreenLink links large-scale wind and solar generation in the Northern Cape with energy-intensive industry, green hydrogen production, desalinated water supply and sustainable urban development in the Western Cape. The corridor enables the efficient transport of renewable electricity, green molecules, water and data over long distances and forms the physical connection between the four South African flagship projects of KAHRE Renewable Energy Group. GreenLink is designed as a future-proof infrastructure system supporting South Africa’s energy transition, industrialization and long-term economic resilience while positioning the country as a globally competitive Net Zero production hub.
