Eldorado dredge hole is a hole that was dug by a giant floating gold dredge. It is at the township of eldorado, about 15 minutes east of Wangaratta in North East Victoria, Australia. The old floating gold dredge is still there floating in this popular little fishing spot and is a popular tourist destination. Over the years fishing in the ELdorado dredge hole has been predominately about redfin, with a few carp caught as well. I remember catching redfin in there back in the early 1990s when I first got my drivers licence. It was the redfin that lured me to go fishing there quite regularly. Over the last few years, Victorian Fisheries Authority have been stocking it with yellowbelly, or Golden Perch as well as silver perch. The Silver Perch stockings have only commenced more recently, and I am really hoping that the silver perch take off in the Eldorado dredge hole, hence me killing the small redfin as I catch them.
