Enjoy the silent resonance of Yuima Nakazato’s spring/summer 2026 collection to rediscover the primal bond between humanity and the natural world! For this season at Paris Fashion Week, the designer returns to the very origins of his identity, drawing inspiration from the ancient Yakusugi cedar trees of Yakushima Island. This collection represents a spiritual journey into a landscape devoid of anything man-made, where Nakazato sought to replicate the streamlined stones and driftwood forms shaped by immense time. To bring this vision to life, the designer personally dedicated over 1,500 hours to working with clay, handcrafting thousands of ceramic pieces that define the garments' silhouettes. Through this tactile process, the boundaries between the body and the earth blurred, allowing the designer to lose track of time and exist as a singular part of a larger ecosystem. By inviting the audience to ignore the constant glow of screens and electronic information, the show creates a fifteen-minute window to focus on the models' breath and the rustle of their clothes. The resulting landscape is a shared experience of silence and movement, bridging the gap between modern fashion and the ancient flow of time. Nakazato ultimately challenges us to look past our digital distractions and feel the resonance of a garment that is not just worn, but lived as a piece of nature.
