Sunrise at Pico do Arieiro & PR1 Hike | Madeira’s Most Breathtaking Experience 🌄

We started our journey to Pico do Arieiro early in the morning, leaving our hotel around 4:45 AM for a 45-minute drive to secure a parking spot. From there, we walked to the sunrise viewpoint and were lucky to find a perfect spot on the hill, while many others were still searching. Watching the sky transform from deep blue to glowing shades of gold and red was absolutely magical. Seeing the sun rise above the horizon made the early wake-up completely worth it. After sunrise, we began the famous PR1 trail. While the hike isn’t extremely difficult, it does require good stamina. As the sun climbed higher, its rays lit up the trails and stairways, making the entire hike feel almost heavenly. Surrounded by dramatic mountains and clouds drifting right beside us, the experience was unforgettable even with the strong winds.
