Artistic Residency Highlights from Au Gres du Jazz Festival in August 2023 in La Petite Pierre, France. Au Gres du Jazz was truly such a wonderful experience. I had a blast hanging out with these amazing musicians. Being surrounded by them every day for 7 days, hearing them rehearse, laughing with them was an adventure. Each moment with them was not only enjoyable but also a learning experience for me. Aurore did such a great job adding distinct color of French music to the Balkan rhythms. That’s what has moved me the most listening to their performance. The fusion of Balkan melodies with French European harmonies was what deeply resonated with me and certainly touched me - to hear a totally new perspective on the Balkan melodies and rhythms which have been engraved in my ear since childhood.
