'The Travelling Dancers', a jig for four couples devised by Carol Smith as a tribute to Norfolk Island. Carol Smith is a noted Wellington deviser and a long time tutor of the Wellington SCD Club, which is no longer in operation. This dance was on the programme for the Johnsonville SCD Club's tartan night on September 12, 2016. A tartan night is basically an ordinary club night but dancers from other clubs are invited and there is live music. This tartan night paid tribute to Wellington devisers. We were lucky this time to have a five-piece band, comprising Mary McDonald, Heather Elder, Lynne Scott, Sharlene Penman and Richard Hardie. The MC was club tutor Rod Downey.
