Highlights of the Tatra 8x8 Model: Motor Configuration: Powered by four L motors for driving and a Powered Up L motor for steering, this setup ensures robust movement and precise control. Advanced Steering System: Utilizing six-wheel steering, the model achieves a remarkable 40° steering angle on the frontmost axle, significantly higher than typical Lego models. This feature allows for superior maneuverability, with both the front and rear wheels steering to navigate tight spaces effectively. Continuous Drive Mechanism: Each of the eight wheels receives constant drive, eliminating differentials to ensure that power is uniformly distributed, crucial for tackling rough terrains. Innovative Drive and Suspension Design: To reduce friction and enhance durability, the drive axles are distinct from those holding the suspension, using clutch 22 gears for efficient power transfer. The use of a CV joint to connect the halves of each axle is a novel approach that has proven effective over challenging terrains. Authentic Suspension: The model employs a traditional Tatra suspension system with half axles extending from the wheels to the center, paired with hard shock absorbers in the front to support additional weight and softer ones in the rear for better compliance. Modular Design: Demonstrating exceptional versatility, the model can be disassembled into smaller segments for easy transportation. This modular capability also allows for potential modifications, such as adjusting the wheelbase or altering the number of axles.
