Interval training is the QUICKEST way to gain power, fitness, and get more out of your time. For best results you will need a power meter or at least a HR monitor. I use Powertap P1 Pedals and love them. But this is the BASICS to get you started on understanding WHY, HOW, WHEN of HIIT / interval training. I spent a ton of time on this video trying to explain a very complex topic, its not a one size fits all type thing and there are many different ways to incorporate intervals into your cycling training. This both for HR and Power. For POWER do a 20 min test, use your best 20 min power number. For HR, do a 25 min test but only count the las 20 min. The first 5min is too get your HR up. /////Workouts form ATP coaching Warm up well, then perform 2 sets of 4x4 min 105% FTP with 2 min recovery between sets. ----- Warm up well, then perform 3x10 min 96-102% FTP with 4 min recovery between sets.
