Undoubtedly one of the most famous British airfcraft, it is no surprise that there are many model kits of the Supermarine Spitfire. Revell though, for some reason, has 2 versions of the Spitfire Mk.Vb in their range... Join me on the workbench as I take a look inside the boxes of both the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb (03897) and Supermarine Spitfire Mk V (04164) plastic model kits in 1/72 scale from Revell, and try to determine what the differences are between the two models. It doesn't strike me as sensible to have these two model kits both in production when they seem to be of the same (or similar) subjects, especially given they are not the same tooling . . .
