Thursday   ||  05022026 ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: "Then Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. As usual he went into the synagogue on the day of rest—a holy day. He stood up to read the lesson." (Luke 4:16 GW) KEY MEDITATION:  Going to church to fellowship with others is an integral part of 'taking the shield of faith' which even Jesus Christ in His earthly ministry did regularly. Our anchor scripture says: ".....AS USUAL HE WENT INTO THE SYNAGOGUE and stood up to read the lesson." If it was a usual spiritual exercise for Jesus, it must be a usual spiritual exercise for you, too! Most people get confused about the reason why they should go to fellowship in the church of the living God; especially when life is good for them or when life is harsh on them. They say, "Why must I go to church?" "Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the Lord ?" (Isaiah 38:22) These are a few signs: 1. It is the church of the living God and the general assembly of the saints. (Heb. 12:22-24) 2. The word of Lord commands our assembling together. (Heb. 10.25) 3. The word of the Lord will come to you again. "And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God." (Acts 13:44) 4. You will have the fullness of the joy of the Lord. (Psalm 16.11) 5. You will infuse your power of prayers with other brethren. (Acts 4:23-31) 6. Your prayers will be answered again, you will be delivered, and you shall possess your possessions. (Oba. 1:17) 7. God will do all that He has spoken concerning you. 8. You shall recover all your losses. 9. Glorious things shall be spoken of you, oh city of the Lord, and you can not be hidden. (Psalm 89.15) 10. You'll hear the testimonies of God's doing in the lives of others. (Rev. 1.9) 11. You are counted among the living, the living that will praise the Lord! 12. You will sing your songs out loud with unseen angels of God! 13. You'll offer acceptable offerings of money, which is your seed for a future financial harvest. (2 Cor. 9:6-7) 14. You'll return home washed, blessed, renewed, and anointed to extend your dominion as you move from strength to strength. (Psalm 84:7; Eph. 5:26-27) 15. Your spirit will rise in power again! "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet," (Rev 1:10) *The mystery of the church is inexplicably too much*!
