On March 18, 2026, the Lyatoshynsky Trio invites audiences to a special chamber music evening at the Bank Austria Salon at the Old Town Hall. The concert brings together central works of the piano trio repertoire with an open, contemporary approach to music-making. Program: 🎵 Johannes Brahms – Piano Trio No. 1 in B major, Op. 8 🎵 Borys Lyatoshynsky – Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 7 ✨ Improvisations In the first part of the programme, two masterpieces are performed: Brahms’ Piano Trio No. 1 in B major, Op. 8, and Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 7 by Borys Lyatoshynsky, one of the most important Ukrainian composers of the 20th century. In the second half of the concert, the musicians step away from the written score. Drawing on motifs, moods, and sonic textures from the first part of the evening, they create free improvisations — born in the moment, unique and unrepeatable. Past and present enter into a vivid dialogue. ✨ The Lyatoshynsky Trio, founded in 2019, is among Ukraine’s leading piano trios. The ensemble combines classical repertoire with contemporary forms of expression and is particularly dedicated to the international presentation of Ukrainian chamber music.
