Deep in the forest wilderness of Carpathia’s Făgăraș Mountains, there lies a land seemingly untouched by time. Ancient trees stretch on to expansive skies, whilst all kinds of wildlife, great and small, find home in their sprawling limbs and roots. Here, Conservation Carpathia works to protect the landscape from illegal logging – involving wildlife scientists and the local communities in their ambitious project to create the largest forest national park, the ‘Yellowstone' of Europe.
