The Downeaster is a unique Amtrak train. Leaving from Boston North station, it is entirely separated from the rest of the Amtrak network (all other trains connect to at least one other train somewhere). It runs through New Hampshire and Maine, terminating at Brunswick, ME. Having opened in 2001, currently there are 5 round trips a day. The service is operated by Amtrak, under contract for the state of Maine. Join us on this quick but scenic trip down east, to Portland, the largest city in Maine.
