Self Defence Shooting by Circle Inspector vs Accused Man with Knife, Neutralize Case In Anantapur

A tense situation unfolded in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, when a knife-wielding accused suddenly attacked a Circle Inspector (CI) during a police operation. The accused, reportedly involved in a criminal case, lunged at the officer with a sharp weapon, injuring him. In immediate response, police personnel accompanying the CI opened fire in self-defense to neutralize the attacker and protect the officer’s life. The accused sustained injuries in the firing and was taken into custody for medical treatment. The CI, who suffered knife wounds, was rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent care.
