Reported structure fire at 1113 Davis Drive in Apex, NC. Dispatched at 4:45pm on November 23rd, 2023, brand new Apex Engine 31 was first due and upgraded to a working fire due to smoke showing through the roof on arrival showing signs of an active fire inside. Once inside, crews realized it was fire in the fireplace, and that the chimney flue was closed, causing smoke to fill the house. There was no fire outside the fireplace, and all that was needed was to ventilate the house. This house was previously involved in a fire, which is why it has obvious damage. 1 person was inside and started the fireplace fire but was not injured.
