"An Introduction to Key Essentials for Successful Bone Grafting Techniques for Ridge Preservation and Augmentation for Implants and Prosthetic Dentistry" By Dr. Jim Grisdale Prevention of alveolar bone lass and maintenance of alveolar bone structure are mandatory for long term stability of conventional or implant-supported prosthetic replacements. Soft and hard tissue complications can lead to unsatisfactory results for the patient including unacceptable tooth morphology, poor phonetics and lack of confidence. This course emphasizes the technical aspects of ridge preservation and augmentation in addition to the practical aspects of presenting and preparing cases. Topics include diagnosis and treatment of soft and hard tissue defect; contemporary ridge preservation/augmentation techniques and the choice of appropriate graft materials for successful regeneration. Bio: Dr. Jim Grisdale is a Board Certified Specialist in Periodontics and Prosthodontics with a private practice in Vancouver, British Columbia. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from McGill University, including a post graduate degree in Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics, and a postgraduate degree in Periodontics from the University of British Columbia. An international lecturer, Dr. Grisdale has been published in the area of treatment for dentin sensitivity, implants, bone regeneration and soft tissue periodontal adhesives. He is currently a full time faculty member in the Department of Periodontics at Loma Linda University in California and is an active participant in clinical research and the study of contemporary periodontal products.
