When running shallow water for bass, Garmin Livescope's perspective mode really shines. While forward view excels at deeper water, finding fish in the water column, and vertical structure, perspective mode works great in shallow water, on horizontal structure, and giving you an idea of how a spot or school of fish is set up. Being able to pan around, it allows you to see a live underwater view of the cover around you and any fish staging on it. We took this technology out for the first time chasing shallow water bass in areas we have fished for years and were able find some new features here and there. However, in some areas, we found it more productive to leave it stowed and just fish a pattern since we already knew the layout of the area. Due to a cold snap, we didn't see many fish roaming the shallows on this trip. Hopefully, as it warms, the lake rises, and fish move up, I will be able to upload some better footage of fish on the perspective view.
